If you’re prone to tonsil infections, you’re already looking for a solution for tonsil infections. There are many to choose from that don’t involve having to go in and have your tonsils removed.
These remedies are probably best suited to infections like tonsillitis. If you’re dealing with tonsil stones, for example, then you’re likely going to have to use different solutions. These, below, may be effective but others will be more so.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar in its organic form has the “mother” still in it. This is the good bacteria that help to heal your body. The “mother” will make the apple cider vinegar look cloudy or as if it has something swirling about in the bottle. It should also read “organic” on the label or “mother intact”.
Add one to two tablespoons of the organic apple cider vinegar to half a cup of warm water and gargle with it several times per day. Also, add one to two tablespoons of the organic apple cider vinegar to another half cup of water and drink this one to three times per day.
Mix one to two teaspoons of salt into a glass of warm water and gargle with this several times per day. Make sure to get the salt all over the tonsils.
This does a few different things, it removes the bacteria that are in and around the tonsils which are making you sick, it also helps to dislodge any bits of food, tonsil stones and other debris that the tonsils catch.
Zinc And Vitamin C
You can suck on lozenges of zinc and vitamin C several times per day to help ease your symptoms and speed healing. It will help with irritated tonsils and sore throats as well. You can also choose juice products that have zinc and vitamin C added for more ways of getting it into your system.
Choose some juice popsicle and soothe those tonsils. Sucking on the popsicle’s will cool the throat and the natural juice will give you more vitamins to fight off infections.
Avoid cream popsicles that may have milk in them and try to avoid sugary types that have no nutritional value.
Avoid Milk Products
Sore throats, tonsil issues, and milk products don’t get along well. Avoid drinking milk products, eating soups that may have milk products added to them and remember to do this for the entire time you’re ill.
Some people do eat a good yogurt that has the good bacteria (probiotics) in it to help relieve some of the symptoms. It’s up to you and how your body reacts to the yogurt. For some, it will be very helpful.
Combining the above-mentioned methods as a solution for tonsil stones, tonsillitis and other tonsil infections will go far in helping to ease your symptoms and heal your tonsils.
Typically these will all give relief to the condition within a few days and in many cases, just a few short hours. Be patient, you didn’t get sick overnight and you likely won’t get well overnight either.
